GRAPEFRUIT is packed with flavonoids, water soluble fiber, potassium, vitamin C, and folic acid. It aids digestion, and the pectin in it is proven to help lower cholesterol.

BEETS are known to boost blood flow and in turn gives you a little kick in your day! These little red, staining everything they touch roots are seriously made of magic, not only are they natural energy aid they are super rich in antioxidants, and have been shown to lower blood pressure.

CARROTS have a range of benefits... A lot of them they have taught us since we were kids, others not so popular. In addition to lower cholesterol and your eyes, The Vitamin C in carrots helps to keep your gums healthy, protein builders for your muscles, and they've got anti-aging properties through their ability to change into Vitamin A and prevent cell degeneration.

MINT promotes digestion and helps prevent inflammation and may also fight indigestion. It's ability to stimulate digestive enzymes helps your body absorb nutrients and turn fat into energy.

GINGER is also an inflammatory. It is great for people with joint pain and arthritis, it's antioxidants increase the flow of blood and the effect has been known to reduce inflammation and reduce pain. It's a natural cold remedy, fights acne, and promotes hair growth (you can even put it directly on your scalp).

TURMERIC is another anti-inflammatory & digestion super star, but also, curcumin helps flush toxins from the body, preventing acne & infections. And if that's not enough, it balances your liver, helping keep you healthy and happy.

That's a lot of awesomeness packed into this one little glass of juice. So let's stop reading about it and start making the juice!

Makes a pitcher full
(approximately 8 servings)

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 bag of grapefruits (about 9)
  • 3 beets
  • 6 carrots
  • 2 handfuls of mint
  • 1.5 inches of ginger
  • 1 inch of turmeric

DIRECTIONS:

Wash all of your ingredients

Peel the grapefruits (use a knife and cut the rind off don't worry if it's not perfect). Use vegetable peeler to peel the ginger, turmeric, and beets.

Juice everything. The order doesn't matter. Dump into the pitcher as your juice reserve fills.

Stir or gently shake, if you trust your lid.

Drink a glass and sort into containers.

STORAGE TIPS:

There's a lot of conflicting advice on storage of juices. While, it's true that the good stuff will degrade over time, it's not going to happen in a matter of minutes. I suggest drinking a glass, storing a little for the next day in a bottle or a pitcher (if you plan to drink all of the juice you made (not recommended for fruit juices))... and then sort servings into plastic bottles and freeze them. You can pack them in your lunch and they will be ready for an afternoon pick up, or take one out before bed and drink it in the morning. Storing in the fridge lasts about 2-3 days, up to one week in the freezer.

WARNINGS:
(yep, even produce comes with a warning label!)

GRAPEFRUIT is known to have affects on medicine absorption and can be dangerous. BEETS should not be consumed if you have kidney stone issues due to high oxalates. Please consult your doctor, if you have concerns.
