City Beat

City Beat is a local magazine in the San Diego area. They feature bands, news, and lots of great topics. Clea, the writer for the Urban Scout section did a series on local Etsy sellers, and I was lucky enough to be one of them. (my store name has changed since then, and she spelled my name "stacy" but it's me! I was also in the print edition.)

"a handful of locals on Etsy.com, the retail website for handmade and vintage goodies that’s a hit with crafters, hipsters and grannies alike. I’ve got at least another fistful of local folks to clue you in on, so let’s get to it."

Zibbet

In 2009, Zibbet was one of the first Etsy-like online shops to open up and start to accept creators. I joined and was given a feature article. Long gone, now... They asked a bunch of questions and I gave a lot of answers that embarrass me now. It's weird to look back on yourself and see the growth of your art, but also of yourself as a person. Here's to another 50 years of embarrassing interviews!

MEEP...

One of the very first of my Zombie monkeys made it to a blog almost immediately. These guys went on the web and they took the internet by storm quick. No one was making sock monkeys that were spooky monsters when I started making these little fellas.

This blog is gone from the web, and MEEP is such a popular term... Bummer!

Geek Details

There's a lot of people who decorate with sock monkeys. This blog article is from one such person, who has a love for all things sock monkey. She included one of my monkeys with a few other items she likes. I love her home's color scheme! And it's pretty neat that one of my monkeys matched it.

The blog is no longer around, but you can still catch up with her on her homepage, twitter, facebook, pinterest, & tumblr.
